Abstract

In vivo microscopy has recently revealed the dynamic natureof many cellular organelles. The dynamic properties of severalcellular structures are consistent with a role for self-organizationin their formation, maintenance, and function; therefore, self-organizationmight be a general principle in cellular organization.
