Corresponds to images presented in Fig. 8. A time-lapse sequence shows a PtK-{alpha}T cell during control (untreated) mitosis. Note the formation of a K-fiber extending from the mono-oriented chromosome (bottom right part of the image) away from the spindle pole. This K-fiber eventually becomes incorporated into the spindle via sliding toward the spindle pole. Both channels represent maximal-intensity projection of 3-D data sets.
