About the Cover
Cover picture: Cross-section of spinal cord from a mouse in which an Escherichia coli {Beta}-galactosidase (lacZ) gene has been inserted into the agrin locus to intercept (trap) transcripts encoding the basal lamina-associated LNagrin isoform. LacZ staining (pink in this pseudocolored reproduction) reveals that this isoform is selectively expressed by ventral motoneurons as well as cells of the microvasculature. See related article in this issue by Burgess et al., 41-52.
