The cover pictures show the effect on the actin cytoskeleton of ectopic expression of human uPAR in growing Swiss 3T3 murine fibroblasts plated in serum-free medium on fibronectin (FN; top) or VN (bottom). Multiple protrusions with strong lamellipodial activity at the edge are induced in cells on VN, but not in cells on FN.
