On the Cover: Lack of a matrix component (fibrillin 2) leads to a limb-patterning defect in mice (bottom). The syndactyly in the mutant mice is primarily due to a defect in mesenchyme differentiation rather than a reduction in apoptosis of interdigital tissue. See page 275).
